About James Allen
James Allen (November 28, 1864 to 1912), a British philosophical writer of inspirational books and a poet, is most famous for his work, As A Man Thinketh.
Inspired by the writings of Tolstoy, Allen retired to a simple life of contemplation and writing at age 38 and produced 19 books over 9 years. Allen's philosophical works focused on the use of the power of thought to increase personal capabilities.
